Youth Camp 2008
Yes! I'm back! Now I could post! >.<
After 4 days of camp. Yes, I've been so blessed by God. Amen!
First of all, I would like to thank God because He gave me a chance to be in this once-in-a-year event. For the past year, I've come to face a lot of struggles. Trials that have tested my faith many times.
This year's camp was different from the usual camps done every year. This camp composes of not only our church (Word International - Binan) but with 4 other churches as well, that includes Sta. Rosa, San Pedro, Calamba and Southville branches of WIN. The camp was held on May 21-24 on Hardin sa Tabing Ilog, Nasugbu, Batangas, the same place where last year's camp took place. I had to face new people and I'm so excited to make new friends! Our camp's theme was "S.U.G.O.D.: Service of Unique Generation in Overcoming Deception."
On May 21st, I had already finished packing my things, I even made a checklist to make sure that everything was in order. Which was only a necessity. Suddenly, it began to rain. What if it rains on the camp site? I hope it ends soon. I was worried because if it rains continuously, then there wouldn't be much activities.
We rode a bus to the campsite, courtesy of WIN-Sta. Rosa, who generously offered us a ride. Only 15 persons from WIN-Binan were allowed to go on the bus, fortunately, I was one of them early birds. My seatmate on the bus was Elize and we had a lot of kodakan [picture-taking] moments. We ate, we slept during the drive. But before we could get there, as in meters away, the bus we rode had engine problems.
When we finally arrived, I hurriedly grabbed my stuff. As I entered the camp site, nostalgia hit! I had so many fond memories there. And I started to look for people who were the same church as I was. We were divided into groups called tribes, from the ancient times. There were 8 tribes; Asher, Benjamin, Dan, Gad, Joseph, Judah, Naphtali and Simeon. I belonged to the Benjamin tribe!
There were so many activities and games. And also topic discussions. I had a lot of fun moments. One discussion really hit me, it was called "Generation X", wherein we discussed about sharing our to our loved ones about the word of God. We watched this short clip entitled "Letter From Hell." All of the discussion were interesting and it can relate to things in the real world.
We had a pageant and unfortunately, I was the muse. Gah! I can't bear to type on about the experience! I was sooo embarrassed!
After that, of course we went home, I was satisfied and super blessed.

I wonder what'll next year's camp will be like. G
