Poem - Alike
Alike
Teary eyes that open a world,
A blank stare to the void.
Fists tightened, body numb.
Trembling hands opened.
Rain has poured down in this city.
Somehow comforting, somehow harsh.
The wind hurled and debris flew.
Strong and seemed unending.
Body, cold and shivering,
Like what was inside of the soul.
The soul began to grow weak,
And so did it's flesh.
The sky, t'was dark.
Grey and dull.
Like what was inside the soul.
Mixed emotions of hatred, sorrow and fear.
Thunder, lightning, gust of vigor winds.
"We're not so different" said the soul.
The rain still pouring, wind still heaving.
It rained that day.
I know that the sky, though inert, is alive.
And somehow on that very day,
I know that the sky cried for me.
